These galas are held at the Manchester Aquatics Commonwealth Pool and there are fees attached to entering. The Rising Stars gala is a one of fee of £5.00 regardless of how many races you enter.
Bolton and Manchester galas have a fee per race normally £3.50 (this is subject to change over time) there is also an admission fee for spectators. The club also holds its own galas twice a year. The one that is held in February is to determine awards for the swimmers that will be presented at our annual awards evening in March. The second gala is normally held in June/July and awards for this gala are presented on the day. Entry to both of these galas is free for the swimmer but the spectators are asked to pay a entry fee.

The club gala is held once a year. Every Club member is expected to take part in this event. There is no entry fee for swimmers but parents and spectators are charged a small fee, normally £2 for entry. This will give them a programme and entry into a raffle.
Medals for the club gala are presented at the Annual Awards Evening which always follows a week or two after the gala.
The club as a whole: Harpurhey Swimming Club is run by Volunteers whose children have either passed through the club or are still swimming with us. All the volunteers work full time and put in a lot of hours in to keep the club going. There are a lot of roles within the club that need to be met as a legal requirement and to make events run smoother. If you feel you can volunteer your time in any way we would be extremely grateful. This does not have to be in a full time role or something that may need a lot of commitment, it could be something as simple as helping out at one of our gala events. If you feel you would like to get involved please speak to Pam.
Funds: The club has to support itself. Things such as medals, pool hire, insurance, awards evening etc, are all paid for out of the session fees. As I am sure you can imagine what we have coming in does not always cover what needs to go out. We try and a get a local store to let us bag pack once a year to help generate funds. Please will you support any raffles tickets or football cards that may come round the club from time to time.
